Elf portrait

First attempt at a digital painting without direct reference. It's still rather messy, but my rendering technique is unevolved so trying to polish makes everything too smooth and blah. I also just needed to stop trying to fix everything and move onto something else.

Many thanks to Trent Kaniuga for doing a quick paint over when I was about to abandon the thing altogether. I'll probably post the version I gave him & his paint over on my blog later.
